Landscape Painting Courses Addiscombe
Our Landscape Painting courses in the greater Addiscombe area are 2 day workshops led by artist Louise Balaam NEAC, member of the New English Art Club.This course will show you Louise’s work and painting style.There will be a focus on learning to work freely, quickly and dynamically.Weather permitting, students will draw outside, working on simplifying, abstraction and working with pencil and watercolour, before moving onto painting in the studio.As Louise will be on hand to give guidance, advice and individual tuition, it is the perfect opportunity for our students to create a number of artworks, and they are encouraged to do so.A number of her sketchbooks will be there for your perusal while your own sketchbooks will be utilized as reference and ideas for your painting.On the second day everyone’s work will be critiqued by the group.
Portrait Painting Addiscombe
We also offer a 2 day Portrait Painting Masterclass in the greater Addiscombe area, led by Vice President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, artist Tim Benson VPROI.The students will be introduced to the artist on this course, as well as his work and the philosophy behind his work.The first day will be begun with a demonstration by Tim, and then you will create your own small, quick oil sketches which focus on tone, colour and form more than detail.Students will produce a large painting on the second day, with the added difficulty of not adding detail.Throughout this process, students’ work will be discussed and their individual choices will be scrutinized to identify how to create tension and interest in the composition.The course finishes with a one on one critique of the work the student has produced.
