Our Landscape Painting courses in the greater Alperton area are 2 day workshops led by artist Louise Balaam NEAC, member of the New English Art Club.Louise’s work and painting style will be introduced to you on this course.The focus will be on learning to work freely, quickly and dynamically.Weather permitting, students can choose to work outside, working with pencil and watercolour and working on simplification and abstraction before painting in the studio.Students will be encouraged to make several paintings over both days and Louise will be on hand to provide advice and individual tuition.Some of her sketchbooks will be available to look at and your own sketchbooks will be used as reference and inspiration to inform your painting.On the second day everyone’s work will be critiqued by the group.

Tim Benson VPROI, Vice President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, presents our Portrait Painting Masterclass, a 2 day workshop in the greater Alperton area.During this course, students will become familiar with the artist, his work and the philosophy behind it.The first day will start with a demonstration by Tim then you will proceed to create small, quick oil sketches which concentrate on form, tone and colour, rather than detail.Students will produce a large painting on the second day, with the added difficulty of not adding detail.In order to identify ways in which to create interest and tension in the work, students’ work will be discussed and their choices examined throughout this process.At the end of the course, the student’s work will be individually critiqued.
