Louise Balaam NEAC, member of the New English Art Club, runs our 2 day Landscape Painting workshops in the greater Bayswater area.On this course you will be introduced to Louise’s work and her painting style.The emphasis will be on acquiring the skills of working quickly, freely and dynamically.Provided there is good weather, students can draw outdoors as they work with pencil and watercolour, focusing on simplification and abstraction before they move indoors and paint in the studio.These two days provide the perfect opportunity for students to create a few paintings, as Louise will be available to give guidance and individual tuition.Some of her sketchbooks will be available to look at and your own sketchbooks will be used as reference and inspiration to inform your painting.The group will assess everyone’s work on the second day.
Portrait Painting Bayswater
We also offer a 2 day Portrait Painting Masterclass in the greater Bayswater area, led by Vice President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, artist Tim Benson VPROI.During this course, students will become familiar with the artist, his work and the philosophy behind it.The first day will start with a demonstration by Tim then you will proceed to create small, quick oil sketches which concentrate on form, tone and colour, rather than detail.Students will produce a large painting on the second day, with the added difficulty of not adding detail.A thorough discussion of students’ work and their individual choices throughout this process will lead to an identification of how to create interest and tension in the composition.The course will end with a one on one critique of the student’s work.
