We offer 2 day Landscape Painting workshops in the greater Belgravia area which are led by artist Louise Balaam NEAC, member of the New English Art Club.On this course you will find out more about Louise’s work and her painting style.There will be a focus on learning to work freely, quickly and dynamically.If the weather allows, students will be able to draw outside, working on simplifying, abstraction and working with pencil and watercolour before working on painting in the studio.These two days provide the perfect opportunity for students to create a few paintings, as Louise will be available to give guidance and individual tuition.Students can look at some of Louise’s sketchbooks while their own sketchbooks will be used as reference and for inspiration.The second day will provide an opportunity for the group to critique each other’s work.
Portrait Painting Belgravia
Another course on offer is our Portrait Painting Masterclass, which is a 2 day course in the greater Belgravia area led by Tim Benson VPROI, Vice President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters.On this course, students will get to know the artist and his work, as well as the philosophy behind his work.Tim will start the first day with a demonstration, after which you will go on to make small, quick oil sketches, concentrating not on detail but on form, tone and colour.On the second day students will create a large painting, again without adding detail.Students’ work and the choices they made during its creation will be discussed and analysed during this process to discover how to create tension and interest in the composition.The course will end with a one on one critique of the student’s work.
