Landscape Painting Courses Bermondsey
Artist Louise Balaam NEAC, member of the New English Art Club, presents a 2 day workshop in the greater Bermondsey area on Landscape Painting.On this course you will find out more about Louise’s work and her painting style.You will concentrate on learning to work dynamically, quickly and freely.Provided there is good weather, students can draw outdoors as they work with pencil and watercolour, focusing on simplification and abstraction before they move indoors and paint in the studio.While Louise is available during these two days to give advice and one on one tuition, we encourage students to make several paintings.You will be given the opportunity to examine some of her sketchbooks and then you will use your own sketchbooks as reference and as a source of ideas for your own painting.On the second day everyone’s work will be critiqued by the group.
Portrait Painting Bermondsey
We also offer a 2 day Portrait Painting Masterclass in the greater Bermondsey area, led by Vice President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, artist Tim Benson VPROI.During this course, students will become familiar with the artist, his work and the philosophy behind it.The first day will start with a demonstration by Tim then you will proceed to create small, quick oil sketches which concentrate on form, tone and colour, rather than detail.The second day will give students the opportunity to create a large painting, again without adding detail.Throughout this process, students’ work will be discussed and their individual choices will be scrutinized to identify how to create tension and interest in the composition.The course finishes with a one on one critique of the work the student has produced.
