Landscape Painting Courses Bewl-Bridge-Reservoir
We offer 2-day Landscape Painting workshops in the greater Bewl-Bridge-Reservoir area which are led by artist Louise Balaam NEAC, member of the New English Art Club. Louise’s work and painting style will be introduced to you on this course. You will concentrate on learning to work dynamically, quickly and freely. If the weather allows, students will be able to draw outside, working on simplifying, abstraction and working with pencil and watercolour before working on painting in the studio. Students are free to create several paintings over the two days while Louise is on hand to provide advice and individual attention. You will be able to look at a few of her sketchbooks and your own sketchbooks will be used as reference and inspiration for your painting. The second day will provide an opportunity for the group to critique each other’s work.
Portrait Painting Bewl-Bridge-Reservoir
We also offer a 2-day Portrait Painting Masterclass in the greater Bewl-Bridge-Reservoir area, led by Vice President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, artist Tim Benson VPROI. This course will introduce students to the artist as they get to know his work and the philosophy behind it. On the first day, Tim will give a demonstration after which you will create small, quick oil sketches focusing more on form, tone and colour than detail. A large painting will be produced by the students on the second day – again, a work without detail. Students’ work will be discussed throughout this process and their individual choices will be examined, so as to identify how to create tension and interest in the composition. The course finishes with a one on one critique of the work the student has produced.
