Landscape Painting Courses Botany Bay
The New School of Art also offers a 2 day Landscape Painting course in the greater Botany Bay area, presented by artist Louise Balaam NEAC, member of the New English Art Club.On this course you will find out more about Louise’s work and her painting style.The emphasis will be on acquiring the skills of working quickly, freely and dynamically.Weather permitting, students will draw outside, working on simplifying, abstraction and working with pencil and watercolour, before moving onto painting in the studio.Students are free to create several paintings over the two days while Louise is on hand to provide advice and individual attention.Some of her sketchbooks will be available to look at and your own sketchbooks will be used as reference and inspiration to inform your painting.On the second day everyone’s work will be critiqued by the group.
Portrait Painting Botany Bay
Tim Benson VPROI, Vice President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, presents our Portrait Painting Masterclass, a 2 day workshop in the greater Botany Bay area.During the course students will be introduced to the artist, his work and the philosophy behind his work.The first day will be begun with a demonstration by Tim, and then you will create your own small, quick oil sketches which focus on tone, colour and form more than detail.On the second day students will create a large painting, again without adding detail.Students’ work will be discussed throughout this process and their individual choices will be examined, so as to identify how to create tension and interest in the composition.The course will conclude with a one on one assessment of the student’s work.
