We offer 2 day Landscape Painting workshops in the greater Cambridge Heath area which are led by artist Louise Balaam NEAC, member of the New English Art Club.This course will show you Louise’s work and painting style.There will be a focus on learning to work freely, quickly and dynamically.Provided there is good weather, students can draw outdoors as they work with pencil and watercolour, focusing on simplification and abstraction before they move indoors and paint in the studio.As Louise will be on hand to give guidance, advice and individual tuition, it is the perfect opportunity for our students to create a number of artworks, and they are encouraged to do so.Some of her sketchbooks will be available to look at and your own sketchbooks will be used as reference and inspiration to inform your painting.The second day will provide an opportunity for the group to critique each other’s work.
Portrait Painting Cambridge Heath
Tim Benson VPROI, Vice President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, presents our Portrait Painting Masterclass, a 2 day workshop in the greater Cambridge Heath area.During the course students will be introduced to the artist, his work and the philosophy behind his work.Tim will start the first day with a demonstration, after which you will go on to make small, quick oil sketches, concentrating not on detail but on form, tone and colour.The second day will give students the opportunity to create a large painting, again without adding detail.In order to identify ways in which to create interest and tension in the work, students’ work will be discussed and their choices examined throughout this process.The course finishes with a one on one critique of the work the student has produced.
