Tim Benson VPROI, Vice President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, presents our Portrait Painting Masterclass, a 2 day workshop in the greater Carshalton area.On this course, students will get to know the artist and his work, as well as the philosophy behind his work.On the first day, after a demonstration by Tim, you will proceed to create small, quick oil sketches which focus more on tone, colour and form than detail.Students will produce a large painting on the second day, with the added difficulty of not adding detail.In order to identify ways in which to create interest and tension in the work, students’ work will be discussed and their choices examined throughout this process.The course finishes with a one on one critique of the work the student has produced.
