The Life Drawing classes offer an opportunity for artists to explore their creativity and practise their draftsmanship in a focused but supportive environment. Tutors will be on hand to provide guidance and instruction. This programme will improve your skills, no matter your level of ability. Landscape Painting Courses Coneyhurst
Artist Louise Balaam NEAC, member of the New English Art Club, presents a 2-day workshop in the greater Coneyhurst area on Landscape Painting. Louise’s work and painting style will be introduced to you on this course. There will be a focus on learning to work freely, quickly and dynamically. Weather permitting, students can choose to work outside, working with pencil and watercolour and working on simplification and abstraction before painting in the studio. As Louise will be on hand to give guidance, advice and individual tuition, it is the perfect opportunity for our students to create a number of artworks, and they are encouraged to do so. A number of her sketchbooks will be there for your perusal while your own sketchbooks will be utilized as reference and ideas for your painting. The second day will give the group the chance to assess everyone’s work.
Portrait Painting Coneyhurst
Also on offer is our Portrait Painting Masterclass led by artist Tim Benson VPROI, Vice President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters – a 2-day course in the greater Coneyhurst area. This course will introduce students to the artist as they get to know his work and the philosophy behind it. The first day will be begun with a demonstration by Tim, and then you will create your own small, quick oil sketches which focus on tone, colour and form more than detail. Students will produce a large painting on the second day, with the added difficulty of not adding detail. Throughout this process, students’ work will be discussed and their individual choices will be scrutinized to identify how to create tension and interest in the composition. The course will end with a one on one critique of the student’s work.
