Beginners Art Classes Cox-Green
Our art courses cater for a range of abilities – from beginner to professional artists. If you are looking to develop an existing skill, are starting a new hobby or are completely new to painting, our tutors will be able to support you at your individual level. Our Beginner art classes are intentionally kept small and intimate by aiming to cap the class sizes at 10 or 12 to allow you to receive all the direction you need from your tutor. Our Beginner art lessons involve not only individual work, but group work as well. Individual one to one time with your tutor will let you focus on your specific needs while you will also be given the opportunity to collaborate with other students.
Advanced Art Classes Cox-Green
For those professional artists who are looking to gain more experience or depth or concentrate on the art they have already produced, our Advanced art courses are just what you are looking for. All of our tutors are practising artists and will be able to give you technical support and provide an insight into the industry as it stands right now. You are sure to find like-minded artists in the Advanced art class who share your goals – to challenge their skills and knowledge and define and develop their practice. Taking an art course shouldn’t be at the expense of your working life and other responsibilities, so our timetables have been designed especially to fit into your busy schedule.
Fine Art Courses Cox-Green
The New School of Art offers a Fine Art course in the greater Cox-Green area for a more general overview of fine art. The tutors provide an introduction to fine art practice, including drawing and painting, to assist students in focusing and critically reflecting on their work. As it is led by professional artists, this programme gives students the opportunity of benefitting from class discussions, workshops and one to one tutorials. During the course, students will develop their skills and gain insight into the way their course tutor works.
Life Drawing Classes Cox-Green
Our Life Drawing classes which we offer in the greater Cox-Green area are proving to be a popular choice. We maintain that thorough study in drawing is important to all figurative work and this underlines our beliefs as an Art school. In this class, the life model is drawn in a range of different poses. The Life Drawing classes offer an opportunity for artists to explore their creativity and practise their draftsmanship in a focused but supportive environment. Tutors will be available to give guidance and provide instruction. No matter what your level of ability is, this programme will develop your skills. Though there is tuition and direction, this class is a great opportunity to work on your drawing in a more social environment.
Landscape Painting Courses Cox-Green
We offer 2-day Landscape Painting workshops in the greater Cox-Green area which are led by artist Louise Balaam NEAC, member of the New English Art Club. This course will show you Louise’s work and painting style. There will be a focus on learning to work freely, quickly and dynamically. Weather permitting, students can choose to work outside, working with pencil and watercolour and working on simplification and abstraction before painting in the studio. Students are free to create several paintings over the two days while Louise is on hand to provide advice and individual attention. A number of her sketchbooks will be there for your perusal while your own sketchbooks will be utilized as reference and ideas for your painting. The group will assess everyone’s work on the second day.
Portrait Painting Cox-Green
Also on offer is our Portrait Painting Masterclass led by artist Tim Benson VPROI, Vice President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters – a 2-day course in the greater Cox-Green area. This course will introduce students to the artist as they get to know his work and the philosophy behind it. On the first day, Tim will give a demonstration after which you will create small, quick oil sketches focusing more on form, tone and colour than detail. Students will produce a large painting on the second day, with the added difficulty of not adding detail. In order to identify ways in which to create interest and tension in the work, students’ work will be discussed and their choices examined throughout this process. The course finishes with a one on one critique of the work the student has produced.
