We also offer a 2 day Portrait Painting Masterclass in the greater Elmers End area, led by Vice President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, artist Tim Benson VPROI. On the first day, after a demonstration by Tim, you will proceed to create small, quick oil sketches which focus more on tone, colour and form than detail.A large painting will be produced by the students on the second day – again, a work without detail. In order to identify ways in which to create interest and tension in the work, students’ work will be discussed and their choices examined throughout this process. The course will end with a one on one critique of the student’s work.
