Art Courses Foxhunt-Green
Foxhunt-Green, inspiring and diverse, is a hub for the Arts. Not only established artists but also many emerging creatives call Foxhunt-Green home. If you are considering taking an art course, Foxhunt-Green should be your first choice. The New School of Art presents courses led by well-established, highly regarded art historians and artists who will support and guide you through the course of your choice.
Beginners Art Classes Foxhunt-Green
Our art courses have been created with the whole range of artists in mind, from beginner to professional. If you are new to painting, starting a new hobby or looking to develop an existing painting practice, our tutors will work with you at your current level. We aim to cap the capacity of our Beginner art classes at 10 or 12 so we can guarantee the classes are small and intimate, which allows our students to enjoy individual attention from the tutors. Our Beginner art lessons involve not only individual work, but group work as well. You will be given the chance to both to discuss your specific needs one on one with your tutor and to share ideas with other students.
Advanced Art Classes Foxhunt-Green
Our Advanced art courses in the greater Foxhunt-Green area are ideal for professional artists who are looking for more experience, depth or focus on the work they already create. All of our tutors are on hand to provide technical support to the students and, as practising artists, can give an insight into the industry as it stands now. In our Advanced art classes you will be among like-minded artists who similarly wish to develop and define their own practice and challenge their skills and knowledge. Taking an art course shouldn’t be at the expense of your working life and other responsibilities, so our timetables have been designed especially to fit into your busy schedule.
Fine Art Courses Foxhunt-Green
For a more general overview of fine art, the New School of Art offers a Fine Art course in the greater Foxhunt-Green area. The tutors provide an introduction to fine art practice, including drawing and painting, to assist students in focusing and critically reflecting on their work. This programme is led by working artists, so students can benefit from one to one discussions with professionals, as well as discussions and workshops with their peers. During the course, students will develop their skills and gain insight into the way their course tutor works.
Life Drawing Classes Foxhunt-Green
A popular choice are the Life Drawing classes we run in the greater Foxhunt-Green area. Our belief that thorough study in drawing is essential to all figurative work is the foundation of our philosophy as an Art school. The class involves the life model being drawn in a number of poses. The Life Drawing classes allow artists to explore their creativity and practice their draftmanship in a focused and supportive environment. Tutors will be available to give guidance and provide instruction. No matter what your level of ability is, this programme will develop your skills. Though there is tuition and direction, this class is a great opportunity to work on your drawing in a more social environment.
Landscape Painting Courses Foxhunt-Green
We offer 2-day Landscape Painting workshops in the greater Foxhunt-Green area which are led by artist Louise Balaam NEAC, member of the New English Art Club. Louise’s work and painting style will be introduced to you on this course. There will be a focus on learning to work freely, quickly and dynamically. Weather permitting, students can choose to work outside, working with pencil and watercolour and working on simplification and abstraction before painting in the studio. Students will be encouraged to make several paintings over both days and Louise will be on hand to provide advice and individual tuition. Students can look at some of Louise’s sketchbooks while their own sketchbooks will be used as reference and for inspiration. On the second day there will be a group critique of everyone’s work.
Portrait Painting Foxhunt-Green
Also on offer is our Portrait Painting Masterclass led by artist Tim Benson VPROI, Vice President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters – a 2-day course in the greater Foxhunt-Green area. During this course, students will become familiar with the artist, his work and the philosophy behind it. The first day will start with a demonstration by Tim then you will proceed to create small, quick oil sketches which concentrate on form, tone and colour, rather than detail. A large painting will be produced by the students on the second day – again, a work without detail. In order to identify ways in which to create interest and tension in the work, students’ work will be discussed and their choices examined throughout this process. At the end of the course, the student’s work will be individually critiqued.
