Beginners Art Classes Green-Street
Our art courses have been created with the whole range of artists in mind, from beginner to professional. If you have just started painting, are starting a new hobby or are thinking of developing your established painting practice, our tutors will work with you at your level. By aiming to ensure a maximum class size of 10 or 12, we are able to offer small, intimate Beginner art classes and a tutor on hand to give you the individual attention you need. Our Beginner art lessons incorporate individual and group work. You will be given the opportunity to share ideas with other students, as well as being given one to one time with your tutor to focus on your own specific needs.
Advanced Art Classes Green-Street
Professional artists wanting to gain more experience or depth or focus on the work they already create will find our Advanced art courses in the greater Green-Street area ideal. As practising artists, all of our tutors can give technical support and provide insight into the industry as it stands at the moment. On an Advanced art course you will be in a class of like-minded artists, who have the same goal – to develop and define their own practice and challenge their existing skills and knowledge. Fine Art Courses Green-Street
Another course offered by the New School of Art is the Fine Art course in the greater Green-Street area, which offers a broader overview of fine art. The tutors provide an introduction to fine art practice, including drawing and painting, to assist students in focusing and critically reflecting on their work. The programme is taught by professional artists, which allows students to benefit from one to one tutorials as well as be involved in class workshops and discussions. For the duration of the course, students will grow their skills and gain insight into how their course tutor works.
Life Drawing Classes Green-Street
Our Life Drawing classes which we offer in the greater Green-Street area are proving to be a popular choice. Our belief that thorough study in drawing is essential to all figurative work is the foundation of our philosophy as an Art school. The class involves the life model being drawn in a number of poses. The Life Drawing classes proivde an opportunity for artists to discover their creative side and practise their draftmanship in a focused, supportive environment. Tutors will be on hand to provide guidance and instruction. Regardless of your level of ability, this programme will help develop your skills. Although there is tuition and direction for all students, this class provides a chance to work on your drawing in a more social environment.
Landscape Painting Courses Green-Street
Artist Louise Balaam NEAC, member of the New English Art Club, presents a 2-day workshop in the greater Green-Street area on Landscape Painting. Louise’s work and painting style will be introduced to you on this course. There will be an emphasis on understanding how to work quickly, dynamically and freely. Weather permitting, students can choose to work outside, working with pencil and watercolour and working on simplification and abstraction before painting in the studio. Students will be encouraged to make several paintings over both days and Louise will be on hand to provide advice and individual tuition. You will be able to look at a few of her sketchbooks and your own sketchbooks will be used as reference and inspiration for your painting. On the second day there will be a group critique of everyone’s work.
Portrait Painting Green-Street
Tim Benson VPROI, Vice President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, presents our Portrait Painting Masterclass, a 2-day workshop in the greater Green-Street area. The students will be introduced to the artist on this course, as well as his work and the philosophy behind his work. The first day will start with a demonstration by Tim then you will proceed to create small, quick oil sketches which concentrate on form, tone and colour, rather than detail. Students will produce a large painting on the second day, with the added difficulty of not adding detail. Throughout this process, students’ work will be discussed and their individual choices will be scrutinized to identify how to create tension and interest in the composition. The course will end with a one on one critique of the student’s work.
