Our art courses are designed for a wide range of abilities from beginner to professional artists. Landscape Painting Courses Greenwich
Louise Balaam NEAC, member of the New English Art Club, runs our 2 day Landscape Painting workshops in the greater Greenwich area. On this course you will find out more about Louise’s work and her painting style. The focus will be on learning to work freely, quickly and dynamically. Weather permitting, students can choose to work outside, working with pencil and watercolour and working on simplification and abstraction before painting in the studio. Students are free to create several paintings over the two days while Louise is on hand to provide advice and individual attention.Some of her sketchbooks will be available to look at and your own sketchbooks will be used as reference and inspiration to inform your painting. On the second day everyone’s work will be critiqued by the group.
Portrait Painting Greenwich
Tim Benson VPROI, Vice President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, presents our Portrait Painting Masterclass, a 2 day workshop in the greater Greenwich area. The students will be introduced to the artist on this course, as well as his work and the philosophy behind his work. The first day will be begun with a demonstration by Tim, and then you will create your own small, quick oil sketches which focus on tone, colour and form more than detail.On the second day students will create a large painting, again without adding detail. Students’ work will be discussed throughout this process and their individual choices will be examined, so as to identify how to create tension and interest in the composition. The course will end with a one on one critique of the student’s work.
