Landscape Painting Courses Harold Wood
We offer 2 day Landscape Painting workshops in the greater Harold Wood area which are led by artist Louise Balaam NEAC, member of the New English Art Club. On this course you will find out more about Louise’s work and her painting style. You will concentrate on learning to work dynamically, quickly and freely. If the weather permits, working with pencil and watercolour and working on simplification and abstraction can be done outside, and the painting can be done in the studio. While Louise is available during these two days to give advice and one on one tuition, we encourage students to make several paintings.You will be given the opportunity to examine some of her sketchbooks and then you will use your own sketchbooks as reference and as a source of ideas for your own painting. The second day will provide an opportunity for the group to critique each other’s work.
Portrait Painting Harold Wood
Tim Benson VPROI, Vice President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, presents our Portrait Painting Masterclass, a 2 day workshop in the greater Harold Wood area. On this course, students will get to know the artist and his work, as well as the philosophy behind his work. On the first day, Tim will give a demonstration after which you will create small, quick oil sketches focusing more on form, tone and colour than detail.The second day will give students the opportunity to create a large painting, again without adding detail. In order to identify ways in which to create interest and tension in the work, students’ work will be discussed and their choices examined throughout this process. The course will conclude with a one on one assessment of the student’s work.
