Landscape Painting Courses Limpsfield Chart
Artist Louise Balaam NEAC, member of the New English Art Club, presents a 2 day workshop in the greater Limpsfield Chart area on Landscape Painting. This course will show you Louise’s work and painting style. The emphasis will be on acquiring the skills of working quickly, freely and dynamically. If the weather permits, working with pencil and watercolour and working on simplification and abstraction can be done outside, and the painting can be done in the studio. As Louise will be on hand to give guidance, advice and individual tuition, it is the perfect opportunity for our students to create a number of artworks, and they are encouraged to do so. Some of her sketchbooks will be available to look at and your own sketchbooks will be used as reference and inspiration to inform your painting. The second day will provide an opportunity for the group to critique each other’s work.
Portrait Painting Limpsfield Chart
Tim Benson VPROI, Vice President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, presents our Portrait Painting Masterclass, a 2 day workshop in the greater Limpsfield Chart area. During the course students will be introduced to the artist, his work and the philosophy behind his work. On the first day, Tim will give a demonstration after which you will create small, quick oil sketches focusing more on form, tone and colour than detail. A large painting will be produced by the students on the second day – again, a work without detail. In order to identify ways in which to create interest and tension in the work, students’ work will be discussed and their choices examined throughout this process. At the end of the course, the student’s work will be individually critiqued.
