Landscape Painting Courses Polesden Lacey
Our Landscape Painting courses in the greater Polesden Lacey area are 2 day workshops led by artist Louise Balaam NEAC, member of the New English Art Club. This course will show you Louise’s work and painting style. The focus will be on learning to work freely, quickly and dynamically. If the weather permits, working with pencil and watercolour and working on simplification and abstraction can be done outside, and the painting can be done in the studio. Students are free to create several paintings over the two days while Louise is on hand to provide advice and individual attention. Some of her sketchbooks will be available to look at and your own sketchbooks will be used as reference and inspiration to inform your painting. On the second day everyone’s work will be critiqued by the group.
Portrait Painting Polesden Lacey
Tim Benson VPROI, Vice President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, presents our Portrait Painting Masterclass, a 2 day workshop in the greater Polesden Lacey area. On this course, students will get to know the artist and his work, as well as the philosophy behind his work. On the first day, after a demonstration by Tim, you will proceed to create small, quick oil sketches which focus more on tone, colour and form than detail. The second day will give students the opportunity to create a large painting, again without adding detail. A thorough discussion of students’ work and their individual choices throughout this process will lead to an identification of how to create interest and tension in the composition. The course will end with a one on one critique of the student’s work.
