We also offer a 2 day Portrait Painting Masterclass in the greater Tolworth area, led by Vice President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, artist Tim Benson VPROI. On the first day, after a demonstration by Tim, you will proceed to create small, quick oil sketches which focus more on tone, colour and form than detail. The second day will give students the opportunity to create a large painting, again without adding detail. A thorough discussion of students’ work and their individual choices throughout this process will lead to an identification of how to create interest and tension in the composition. The course will end with a one on one critique of the student’s work.
