Landscape Painting Courses Tullecombe

Louise Balaam NEAC, member of the New English Art Club, runs our 2-day Landscape Painting workshops in the greater Tullecombe area. On this course you will find out more about Louise’s work and her painting style. The focus will be on learning to work freely, quickly and dynamically. Weather permitting, students will draw outside, working on simplifying, abstraction and working with pencil and watercolour, before moving onto painting in the studio. Students will be encouraged to make several paintings over both days and Louise will be on hand to provide advice and individual tuition. A number of her sketchbooks will be there for your perusal while your own sketchbooks will be utilized as reference and ideas for your painting. The second day will give the group the chance to assess everyone’s work.

Portrait Painting Tullecombe

Another course on offer is our Portrait Painting Masterclass, which is a 2-day course in the greater Tullecombe area led by Tim Benson VPROI, Vice President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. During the course students will be introduced to the artist, his work and the philosophy behind his work. The first day will start with a demonstration by Tim then you will proceed to create small, quick oil sketches which concentrate on form, tone and colour, rather than detail. The second day will give students the opportunity to create a large painting, again without adding detail. A thorough discussion of students’ work and their individual choices throughout this process will lead to an identification of how to create interest and tension in the composition. At the end of the course, the student’s work will be individually critiqued.
