Jessica Brox is a painter, born in California and living in the UK for over 30 years.
Based in her St.Leonard’s East Sussex studio, she primarily works with oil paint, using the female figure as a recurring motif to explore themes of identity, femininity, interconnectedness, and the depth of human emotion.
A mother of three, Jessica brings a personal depth to her work, informed by her own life experiences and an intuitive connection to the subject. Her practice is grounded in a daily commitment to drawing-both from observation, memory and imagination.
Brox had her second solo exhibition ‘We are all Mothers’ in August at Rogue Gallery in St Leonard’s Hastings. Her debut solo show was the summer of 2023 at Fitzrovia Gallery titled ‘Coming out of the Doll’s House. Her work is collected in the UK, US and globally.
